Painting Like the Masters in Watercolor

  • Larkin Arts 61 Court Square Harrisonburg, VA, 22801 United States (map)

Instructor: Peg Sheridan
$165 //  6:00-8:00 pm  //  Tuesdays  // February 5-March 12 // Beginner - Advanced

Join us as we study the work of artists such as Winslow Homer, Pierre Joseph Redout, Charles Demuth, Zoltan Szabo,  and James McNeill Whistler.  We will look at each artist’s techniques, and try them on our own paintings. You choose works that inspire you, and either copy them or use what you learned from their work to enrich paintings of your own images.  Each student will also choose a contemporary watercolor master to either copy or inform his or her own paintings.

Instructor Peg Sheridan has been painting in watercolors for 38 years, and teaching for 18 years.  She is known for her encouraging, “no fears” way of teaching watercolor painting.  She is a signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society, and has won many regional awards for her paintings.
