Jaynie Smith, BA, James Madison University, grew up in Richmond, Virginia and moved to Harrisonburg to study ceramics, art history and art education at JMU. She has taught for 6 years, was the coordinator for an outdoor summer camp for 4 years and has been the youth instructor at Larkin since June 2018. Her passions lie in ceramics and working with students with special needs. Jaynie loves working with clay because of its malleability to form the surface into whatever forms are calling to me. In her free time she loves playing video games with her husband, playing board games with her friends, and throwing on her potter’s wheel.
