Each semester students will have the opportunity to work with techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and beyond. Each lesson is created to meet the specific needs of both younger and older students and differentiated for the classroom's various developmental and experiential levels. Most semesters, the students will have at least one opportunity to connect with some element of downtown Harrisonburg. Past examples of this include working on an observational painting outside in one of the pocket parks, drawing kittens in action at Cat's Cradle, or designing a logo and menu for their own business after exploring a nearby restaurant's branding and design.
